How Many Passes of Light Does a Flower Bowl Need?
From the bisque to the glaze, a flower is not a sticker applied at the end; it is painted into everyday life, one pass at a time.

We put the pattern where it is seen most often: along the rim, in the centre of a plate, and on the side of a cup that meets the palm.
A single hibiscus red might be mixed three or four times, tested on a tile first, then placed on the form. After firing, the colour settles a little deeper and a little brighter than it looked while being painted — one of the things we love about ceramic: it keeps the human hand, and a little surprise no one can fully control.
